REAL MADRID JERSEY: PURPLE IS BACK FOR 2022-2023
With next season in mind, Real Madrid have just unveiled the new 2022-2023 home shirt with adidas.
Will this new Real Madrid shirt be worn by Kylian Mbappé? This is the question that everyone will be asking in the coming days and weeks. While PSG should wait until the beginning of next season to unveil their 2022-2023 jersey, Real Madrid has just presented its new outfit.
A jersey that obviously retains its legendary white but also and especially integrates the purple. A first for several years.
WHY PURPLE ON THE REAL MADRID JERSEY?
For the past few years, the Real Madrid home shirt has evolved around the historic white base. In order to do this, the Madrid club systematically adds a touch of colour to the team’s stripes. In the past, we have seen gold, turquoise blue and black.
For 2022-2023, purple will be the colour of choice on the White House’s kit. The colour is designed to celebrate the past, present and future, according to the official statement from the club and adidas, and will make its return to the home kit for the first time since 2007-08.
The Real Madrid 2022-2023 home shirt
The design of the jersey is relatively classic, with purple appearing on the three shoulder stripes and a thin border on the collar. The jersey remains extremely sober and thus integrates the long and rich history of Madrid’s uniforms. The only small novelty appears in the collar, as for the first time since the 2018-2019 season, there is a button and a polo-type collar. This offers an even more refined outfit compared to the round-neck versions we have seen in recent years.
To complete the graphic, the Real Madrid logo is integrated in tone on tone on the whole outfit.
A small subtlety that gives relief to the outfit.
Available in two versions and with two different technologies, the Real Madrid 2022-2023 jersey is also available in a long sleeve version. This may seem logical, but it is a real choice on the part of the brand, since in the last two years, long-sleeved shirts have generally been absent from the collections of the various clubs.
